If you know that you only need the most basic disk image tool, ISO Workshop is a simple, free option that you may want to take a look at. WinISO is a professional image file editor, which has powerful function to help you easily edit any kind of CD/DVD/Blu-ray Disc image file and ISO files. But you have to spend more time in making good preparation on selecting a proper DVD drive, an excellent DVD disc and a powerful DVD burning program. What’s more, you can obtain the playback solution on various players with ease and accuracy. That said, many people only want the basics, and if you know what you are doing – and know that you don’t need anything complicated - it could be just the application you need. Burning Blu-ray ISO to DVD can allow you to enjoy the Blu-ray content in an easier way. It has no advanced features or extras, and doesn’t encourage you to do anything but the basics. If you want to do anything even remotely advanced with your disk images, ISO Workshop probably isn’t the app for you. Ubuntu images (and potentially some other related GNU/Linux distributions) have a peculiar format that allows the image to boot without any further modification from both CDs and USB. In looking through the guide, it sounded like maybe the part about "burn" versus "write" was relevant, but it indicated you should get a warning if you're doing the wrong one, and no warning popped up for me. (I don't have a standalone blu ray player, but I'm making discs for people who do.) I mean, I can play it in my computer, because I could play the original video file in my computer, but I assume this won't play in a blu ray player. But what it actually created appears not to be the kind of blu ray disc to play in a blu ray player, but just a recreation of the original video file that it transferred to the disc. I then used the ISO to make a blu ray, and it seemed to all go fine, the way it always has before. So this is the first time I made an ISO with imgburn.
I didn't even realize you can make ISOs with imgburn until after Encore got so buggy and I had so many problems with it that it became unusable and I was looking for an alternative. In the past I've always used Encore to make ISOs and then used imgburn to make discs (DVD or blu ray) from those ISOs. Insert the BD you want to convert to DVD into the external Blu-ray drive, or navigate it through the Add buttons on the main UI if it is already in. Then click the copy mode switcher to choose To DVD. This is probably a dumb question, but is there a problem making a blu ray disc from an ISO with imgburn, when the ISO itself was created from a video file using imgburn? Launch DVDFab Blu-ray to DVD Converter, and load the source Double click DVDFab 12, and opt for Copy from the option bar when it runs.
